Bushwillow students represented United Shotokan Ryu at the 2024 WUKF South African National Championship & Afro-Asian Open held at the Boardwalk Hotel and International Convention Centre in Gqeberha this weekend.
Bushwillow Sensei and WUKF Liaison for SA, Gary Grapentin, organized the event with many prestigious international Senseis attending. It also included a seminar from Sensei Dan Woods.
The event was a huge success and even included a visit from Honorable President Cyril Rhamaposa.
Out of 5 competing countries including South Africa, France, United States of America, Scotland and Namibia, South Africa took the top spot as well as United Shotokan Ryu as the top school.
